Motley Cru (2020)
The 2020 edition of Motley Cru is a blend of barrel aged wild ales, all golden-ish, that were refermented on whole Gamay grapes from Rosewood Estates, for a total of 46 days on fruit. It's our first Gamay release, with a fairly intenseĀ almostĀ 1:1 ratio of grapes to beer, and the result is a fine balance of subtleties.
There's acidity, minerality, and tannic qualities, but no single element overwhelms or takes over, and the supporting flavours of strawberry, cherry, and raspberry seed find their way to the forefront. Bottle conditioned for extra bubbly oomph, and perfect for lifting downtrodden spirits.Ā
